Internet of Things (IoT) Courses

The internet of things (IoT) refers to the growing network of physical objects that are connected to the internet and can collect and exchange data. These objects, which are often equipped with sensors and other technologies, can range from household appliances and wearable devices to industrial machinery and transportation systems. The IoT has the potential to revolutionize many industries and has a wide range of applications, including in healthcare, agriculture, and energy management.

One of the key features of the IoT is its ability to collect and analyze vast amounts of data from connected devices. This data can be used to gain insights into the behavior of individuals, systems, and processes, which can help organizations to make better decisions and improve their operations. However, the IoT also raises important concerns about data privacy and security, as the large amounts of data collected by connected devices can be vulnerable to unauthorized access and misuse.

Overall, the IoT has the potential to bring many benefits, but it also presents challenges that must be addressed in order to ensure that it is used in a responsible and ethical manner.

The IoT is constantly evolving and growing. This selection of courses will help build your knowledge about the IoT and how it can help you with knowledge management.

IBM Cloud Computing

This course introduces you to the IBM Cloud. You will learn about the many offerings and services on IBM Cloud that make it the most open and secure public cloud for developers and enterprises.

Hands-On Internet of Things

This specialization is intended for technologically minded persons who are interested in getting to know the latest in ubiquitous computing, also known as “Internet of Things”.

The specialization consists of 4 courses that are composed of a basic part with lectures and quizzes, and a practical “honors” part, which includes physically assembling and implementing functionality atop a networked device (please note: while the honors part of the courses is optional, it is required to purchase hardware to complete these practical parts of the courses).

The courses are meant to be taken in sequence, as each course builds on the previous one while adding more functions to the device in the honors section. The construction of the device introduces real-world challenges and technological approaches commonly encountered in the IoT industry and builds students’ confidence that they can do things for real.

Internet of Things and AI Cloud

This specialization covers the development of Internet of Things (IoT) products and services—including devices for sensing, actuation, processing, and communication—to help you develop skills and experiences you can employ in designing novel systems.

The specialization has theory and lab sections. In the lab sections, you will learn hands-on IoT concepts such as sensing, actuation, and communication.

In the final Capstone Project, developed in partnership with Qualcomm, you’ll apply the skills you learned on a project of your choice using the DragonBoard 410c platform.
